Bellator Paris: Cédric Doumbé Knockouts Jaleel Willis – Full Event Results
Dominant Return for Doumbé
Cédric Doumbé made a spectacular return to the cage at Bellator Paris. Entering with confidence, he electrified the crowd at Accor Arena in Paris, delivering a first-round knockout against Jaleel Willis during the co-main event on Friday.
Redemption After Controversial Loss
This victory marks a significant turnaround for the French star, who previously suffered his first professional loss against Baissangour Chamsoudinov in March. That bout ended controversially when debris embedded in Doumbé’s foot forced referee Marc Goddard to stop the fight in the middle of the third round.
Challenge from Pettis
Following his impressive comeback, Doumbé (6-1) faced off with former UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis in the cage. Pettis challenged Doumbé to a fight in Paris, creating great anticipation among fans.
– Fighting me in another country is madness, but fighting me in Paris? This guy is crazy, Doumbé said after leading the crowd in a call-and-response against Pettis.
Swift and Decisive Finish
Doumbé made quick work of Willis (16-6), knocking him down with a right hand early in the first round. He followed up with another perfect right hook, sending Willis to the canvas again and finishing him with a flurry of punches. The official stoppage time was 3:33 in the first round.
Willis has now lost two consecutive fights via first-round knockout.
